PAST WEEK'S ITEMS OF INTEREST

County Legion and V.A.C. meetings were held at our Post this evening, with a total of 17 present, including 4 from our Post 463. (Rains may have kept a couple from coming). There will be no County meeting in January or February, but then the Post Everlasting ceremony will be held on March 14th (Wednesday) at our building, although it will be sponsored by the Minonk Post #142 and the Legion County Council. There will be more details listed here when the date gets closer.

Sunday was our monthly Legion breakfast, with approximately 250 meals served, plus 7 children's breakfasts. Count was down about 50-60 but there was also another fundraising breakfast plus a church holiday meal being held in the area, so that may have caused some of the decrease. We seemed to have plenty of help on the first shift, and second shift wasn't too bad either, partly because of the reduced customers. Next breakfast will be January 8th, so mark your calendar.

The Gifts For The Yanks presents have been delivered to the nursing home and home bound veterans. Watch for a separate posting here this weekend.

There has been new photographs, new videos, new Legion TV, new album photos, and a new December Dept. of Illinois newsletter (click Library icon) added to the right column this past week.
